Vigas de ponte em construção caem e matam três pessoas no Amapá

Um acidente em uma ponte em construção no Amapá matou três operários e deixou dez feridos na tarde deste sábado (20), segundo informações do secretário de Infra-estrutura do estado, Alberto Pereira Goés. A ponte, com cerca de 400 metros de extensão e orçada em aproximadamente R$ 50 milhões, está sendo construída sobre o Rio Vila Nova, a cerca de 60 quilômetros da capital, Macapá.

De acordo com o secretário, no momento do acidente, um macaco hidráulico deslocava a última viga que faltava para ser colocada na obra, a 28ª. A peça, feita de concreto e cabos de aço, balançou e atingiu outra viga. Suspeita-se que a máquina não suportou o peso da peça. As duas vigas caíram e atingiram uma balsa que estava próxima à ponte fazendo a sinalização náutica.
Segundo o secretário, foi aberto um inquérito policial para apurar o que causou o acidente. O governo do estado, de acordo com Goés, também vai esperar o relatório de uma empresa que fiscaliza a ponte. Ele afirmou ainda que o governo está dando assistência às vítimas e às famílias.

The security platoon departed Kandahar Airfield for the bridge on the morning of 14 May. Movement was halted by a mechanical malfunction of the crane, which ended up delaying construction for two days. While bays were being added from the far shore, the crane on the near shore helped place decking and the near-shore ramp. The Soldiers of the 576th worked in shifts around the clock with only a short rest period in order to reduce time on-site. Minor problems called for creative solutions, but no problems arose that halted construction for any length of time. For example, upon completion of the ninth frame, the construction platoon discovered that the bridge was 7 inches off center. Instead of removing frames to correct the problem, the platoon (with help from the crane and several Soldiers from the security platoon) used manpower to slowly move the bridge back on center. The platoon also employed building techniques using vehicle jacks, ratchet straps, and tanker bars to help get the bridge pieces assembled.
The Soldiers completed the bridge on 19 May, with a total construction time of approximately 50 hours. The security and construction platoons, along with the route clearance patrol, moved from the bridge site back to their forward operating base An airfield used to support tactical operations without establishing full support facilities. Terremoto no Chile derruba Ponte sobre o Rio Bío Bío em Concepción


Puente Viejo, ponte sobre o rio Bío Bío em Concepción, no Chile, desabou após o terremoto de 8,8 graus de magnitude que atingiu a região central do país na madrugada desta sábado. A ponte foi construída em 1937 e tem quase 1,5 km de extensão. O tremor deste sábado derrubou prédios e deixou ao menos 85 mortos no país, segundo informações oficiais do governo chileno.
